A concept app developed as part of an academic project in collaboration with Simply. While the company was not directly involved in commissioning or implementing the app, the project was inspired by their mission and included feedback sessions with company representatives. The app focuses on making musical ear training more accessible through interactive challenges based on real songs, encouraging group learning and creativity.

Problem Statment
How can we help beginner musicians improve their ear through personalized, adaptive training using the music they love?
Opportunity
Simply offers a range of leisure-time activities focused on creativity and personal growth, such as singing and playing instruments. However, many of these activities require full focus, quiet environments, or being alone—making them less accessible during short, fragmented breaks throughout the day.
Solution
This created an opportunity to design a complementary experience: something musical, meaningful, and engaging, yet simple enough to enjoy in small moments, even in social or noisy settings. Simply Elevate was designed to fill that gap, offering bite-sized ear training challenges based on real songs, allowing users to stay connected to their musical passion—anytime, anywhere.

Key Findings (User Interview)
1. Intuitive Learning is Preferred Participants value ear-based learning over formal theory or sheet music.
2. Gamification and Interactive Tools are Appealing Gamified features make learning music fun and engaging.
3. Collaboration is Valued but Should Be Physical: Remote group practice (e.g., Zoom, VR) is considered impractical.
4. Tools Should Be Beginner-Friendly Participants highlighted the importance of accessibility for beginners or casual users.
5. Practical Features for Ear Training Ear training is relevant for all skill levels and should be a core focus of the app.

Custom Animation (Design + Code)
The animations were inspired by musical sounds and rhythms, designed to visually echo the feel of music. I built them using custom p5.js code, creating dynamic visuals that respond to user interaction and enhance the musical experience.
